I can't tell you how many times I've re-read this blog since it was posted. Gawd, #10 makes me laugh!

Success can mean different things to different people. Over the years, success has meant a lot of different things to me. When I was twenty the success, after which I chased, is different from what I have achieved in my forties; I don't think one is better than the other. Believing that one type of success is better than the other can only deliver regret, so I have chosen to believe that whatever success I currently enjoy is the one that best serves me.

It's already a favourite.

My working class small business owner parents are awesome. They are retired now but years ago when I was in my first year of acting school they had some advice for me. The advice was simple and two fold. "Do whatever you want just buy a house as soon as you can. Even before that. Honey, turn your rent into a mortgage payment." AND, "Do commercials. From where we sit commercials are how you work smart."

The International Festival of Authors is one of my favourite events. For several years I have been invited to participate at the festival, as an actor, reading passages from literary works when, for whatever reason, authors can't. Oh, how I love it. Writers are great people to hang out with, er, are great people with whom to hang out.
